Chris Janes

I’m Chris Janes, a multimedia specialist who has been capturing  still and video images for 19 years. My path into visual work started at the Art Institute of Atlanta, where I earned a degree in Video Production. From there, I worked as a production assistant at The Weather Channel, then as the multimedia photographer and editor for the City of College Park, Georgia. Filmed and edited broadcast packages, covered community events, and managed the city’s social media channel. 

Then, in 2013, I resigned and took one year off to travel the United States. At the end of my travel year, I completed a 34-day outdoor leadership certification course with the International Wilderness Leadership School in Haines, AK. Since then, I built a life around seasonal work in the travel and outdoor tourism industry. I’ve been a mountain photographer at Keystone Resort, driven CDL shuttle and transport vehicles over whiteout mountain passes, and guided sled dog teams as an interpretive musher. And traveled nearly 100,000 miles on road trips across the United States.
